Inkart: Building a race-minded experience with BMI Leisure

When guests arrive at Inkart in Puurs, Belgium, the focus is clear. Marshals prepare drivers, staff check karts, and the next session lines up. It’s a place built around real racing, not games or gimmicks. Inkart opened on 29 April 1994 and was one of the first indoor karting venues in Belgium. The track runs across two indoor levels and connects to an outdoor section that reaches one kilometer during the summer months. Families and corporate groups share the same race mindset here.

Finding the right fit

By 2017, the team needed software that could match their way of working. Public sessions filled the calendar, but corporate events had their own structure. Most systems on the market were too limited or too rigid for both.

“We picked BMI Leisure since it fits the way we work. Our public heats and our B2B formats live in one booking tool.”

Through a meeting with BMI Leisure, the team saw how adaptable the system could be. Together they configured the platform so Inkart could handle both public and business events within the same process.

A new step during lockdown

When lockdowns paused racing, Inkart used the downtime to improve its setup. They introduced Online Booking with BMI Leisure. Once reopening began, guests could plan their visits directly online by booking one or multiple sessions for kids, juniors or adults, or register for Race Cups or other special events. Parents could even add birthday packages in the same flow. On site, the Pit module managed lap timing and race results, while CRM tools collected data that later helped with email outreach.

“Turning on online booking was a very good call. It saved time and greatly lifted revenue once we reopened.”

Working with the system every day

Behind the counter, the team runs everything through BMI Leisure. The Sales screen keeps track of arrivals, payments, and open spots. Color codes and small memos make it easy to follow who’s on track next. The marshals see that same information in the pit, allowing them to brief each group properly before the race. With built-in timing and track controls, the system handles the details so the team can focus on the drivers.

The Reservations view links karting sessions with restaurant bookings in Refuel, Inkart’s own restaurant. Staff can see for example that a group of 4 drivers in the afternoon and thirteen guests have a table later that evening. It keeps the flow of the day predictable for both teams.

Measurable results

    • In the past year, Inkart hosted 24,464 guests and around 4,000 business visitors.

    • A typical visitor spends about €60 per trip and drives close to three sessions.

    • New staff learn the essentials within one day.

Looking ahead

Working with BMI Leisure has helped Inkart keep its identity while improving how each day runs. The racing atmosphere stays the same, but behind the scenes everything moves faster and with less effort. Whenever questions come up, the BMI Leisure team is only a call away, 24/7.
